So, the husband informed me that he knew where the perfect nachos were. Of course, he’s been holding out because I only talk about the perfect nachos incessantly –> which, then leads me to believe that he ignores me. Hmm…
I tell him that that’s where we’re going for HIS birthday (on the 28th) – the Blue Goose Sports Cafe. I was so busy that week, I didn’t even look at the menu. You KNOW I’m busy when I don’t have time to look at a menu. I live for stalking menus! But, I knew we were getting nachos…of course.
I had a killer headache that night – I’m trying to cut back on my coffee consumption…which, just leads to headaches. I don’t know why I want to torture myself.
Blue Goose definitely has an “after work” appeal to it – a nice place to grab a cocktail before going home (or, does that only happen in movies?)
Dim lighting, HUGE bar, all wood.
Service was good – she was on it, without being overly annoying.
We got the Ultimate Fiesta Nachos (A mound of fresh tortilla chips topped with seasoned ground beef, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, diced tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and a dollop of sour cream)
Right away – I can see what the problem is going to be. Say it with me…there’s NO guacamole listed!
I couldn’t decide which picture I liked better!
I asked for guacamole – there wasn’t any in the building. 😦
They were fine. I can see that the husband and I have 2 totally different ideas about the perfect nachos. In his defense, however, I was having eating issues and could only choke a couple of bites down. Just average, nothing struck me as special!
My son, who really wanted a steak, ended up with a Classic Angus Cheeseburger (of course)
As soon as he’s finished being a burger slacker, I’ll let him tell you how he liked this burger!
My daughter got Country Fried Chicken – she is a fat girl, in a thin girl’s body.
She loved it – it’s fried, with mashed potatoes and massive amounts of gravy. I don’t how you CAN mess that up!
The husband, my perpetual dieter, got the Grilled Chicken Breast Dinner (boring!)
He said the chicken was really good – keep in mind, however, that he also loved the nachos. Just saying.
I got the Beer-Battered Pub Fish and Fries (I was having fish fry withdrawal!)
It was okay – the fries weren’t good. The batter needed more flavor – or just salt would have been okay! The tartar sauce was bland. I didn’t think that they catered to the seniors?
Cole slaw wasn’t anything spectacular. Again, not BAD. Just didn’t wow me.
The best part of the evening? I didn’t have to cook and I was with my family, on my husband’s birthday.
I know the husband will be back because he goes there, frequently for work lunches. Me, on the other hand…let’s just say that it wouldn’t be my first choice, or my second…or my third.
